Bannerlord continues to see regular quality updates. with version 1.5 upon us, general speed has improved. Some memory leak issues and CPU/lag issues seem to be occuring, however this could be mod related. I’m keeping mods lean as the constant updates make a steady long game a challenge to complete.
Generally the game is framing up exceptionally. My hope is that future versions keep bringing key mod features in, like party sorting, ability to take all prisoners and items with 1 click near the bottom of the menu, ability to find locations from the notes with a go to… option, and some key mods to add flavour like bandit militia’s, that let bandits start merging into larger parties, getting leaders, and gearing up/turning into roving bandit mobs or launching their own factions.
Horses still need work for flavour and differentiation, and generally this aspect of the game needs tweaking, it’s better than warband but still leaves only a top 10% desirable items/horses, with the rest relegated to scrap as you level up.
I’d also like to see more starting options, like starting as a wealthy noble, starting as a fief holder of a faction, or even a lord of a castle or town. Especially for us veterans, where foten the early game grind becomes repetitive after the 10th restart with every new version release.
Beyond this the game could use more fluff quests, companions, etc, many things I suspect we will see drop in the coming months as we near 2.0 which will likely be the final release from my estimations.
At this time the game is in a very good and playable state, steamrolling of factions is greatly improved, if anything the maps seem a bit too peaceful after the early steamrolls we saw in the first releases.
Exciting days ahead for this brilliant intellectual property, no doubt about that.
